The cover assignment was to produce a quick turnaround cover idea where the headline for the main story was “absolutely unhindered by any specific imagery”. The objective was to make the cover stand out from the previous covers (many of which had representational imagery) and with S&P standard iconography, colors, grid and typefaces.
